This has a "flat" shovel pattern that was once very common and characterized all snow shovels from the days of stamped aluminum shovels first seen in the 1950's.
The Nordic shovel does NOT have a metal wear strip. While this does mean that the shovel will wear out sooner, it also means that the shovel will glide over routine surface imperfections on your sidewalks, decks, and steps. Steel wear strip shovels will often "catch" as you work, making for unpleasant and jarring shoveling. WHR 01.17
