Bay State Fertilizer is made from effluent processed by our very own Deer Island facility. Sewerage from many Eastern Massachusetts cities and towns arrive at Deer Island for processing. Part of that processing is the reclamation of nutrient solids that are pelletized and packaged as Bay State Fertilizer.

It is the uninformed opinion of Round's Hardware Management that sewerage from Harvard, MIT, BU, Boston College, Northeastern, Tufts, University of Massachusetts and hundreds of other educational institutions flow to Deer Island and in turn becomes Bay State Fertilizer. Even the sewerage from the State House on Beacon Hill, Boston City Hall, Cambridge City hall and many other civic buildings flows out to Deer Island to become Bay State Fertilizer.
